SOG138 – where Filipino gaming culture meets online play.
The Classic Game
Ask almost any Filipino and they'll tell you — Tongits is more than just a card game. It's part of every family reunion, every fiesta, and every lazy Sunday afternoon. Believed to have roots in a simplified version of Rummy brought to the Philippines decades ago, Tongits quickly became a fixture in Filipino culture, played with a standard 52-card deck by three or four players.
The objective is simple on the surface: reduce your hand value to the lowest possible total by forming sets (three or four cards of the same rank) or sequences (consecutive cards of the same suit). The player who successfully empties their hand, or whoever holds the lowest total when the deck runs out, wins the pot.
What makes Tongits special is the strategic tension. You can "fight" a challenge — called a "draw fight" — whenever the deck empties, and players vote on whether to continue. It creates moments of bluffing, reading opponents, and deciding when to fold and when to push harder. That mix of skill and reading the room is exactly why SOG138 chose Tongits as a core part of its game library.
At SOG138, the game is faithfully reproduced. The rules you learned growing up are the same rules that apply here — no weird variations, no confusing side mechanics. Just the Tongits you already know, played for real PHP stakes against real players.

Game Rules
New to online Tongits or need a quick refresher? Here's how a typical game flows at SOG138.
Each game has 3 players. The dealer gets 13 cards; the other two players get 12 each. The remaining cards form the draw pile in the centre.
On your turn, draw from the pile or take the top discard. Then discard one card face-up. Form sets and sequences to lower your hand total.
You can lay down ("meld") valid sets on the table. You can also add cards to another player's melded sets — called "burning" — to reduce your own hand.
Empty your hand and shout Tongits — you win automatically. If the deck runs out, a Draw Fight begins. Players who haven't been fought can challenge the lowest-hand player. Lowest hand takes the pot.
Winners collect the pot from the table. At SOG138, winnings are credited instantly to your balance and can be cashed out anytime via GCash, Maya, or bank transfer.
Tips from the Pros
Tongits rewards players who think a few moves ahead. A lot of beginners focus only on their own hand and forget to watch what opponents are discarding. At SOG138, the table layout makes it easy to track which cards have already been thrown away — use that information.
Face cards (Jack, Queen, King) are each worth 10 points. Aces are 1. Number cards carry their face value. In the early game, get rid of your 10-point cards quickly unless they're part of a near-complete set. Holding them too long is the number one reason players lose a Draw Fight. SOG138's interface clearly shows your current hand total, so you always know where you stand.
Melding a set early looks like progress but it also tells your opponents exactly what you're holding. If you meld a set of Kings, for example, the other players know never to discard a King near you. Hold back until you have two or more melds ready to drop at once so opponents have less time to react.
On SOG138, you can see every card that's been discarded. Develop the habit of scanning it before every draw. If the two cards you need to complete a sequence have already been discarded, that sequence is dead — pivot immediately instead of waiting for a card that will never come.
Challenging a Draw Fight when you know an opponent is sitting on a low hand is risky. Use the information on the table — how many cards they've melded, what they've been discarding — to estimate their hand total before you challenge. Many experienced Tongits players at SOG138 say the Draw Fight decision is where games are most commonly won or lost.
Even the best Tongits player will hit a losing streak. SOG138 offers multiple stake levels precisely so you can drop down to a lower table when variance is running against you, rather than chasing losses at a higher buy-in. Setting a session limit before you start is a habit that separates disciplined players from impulsive ones.
